Southern RoadSport Listings 2021
This listing has been created to continue the excellent work put in by Bill Mexon on his website and Facebook group page, '12 Car Capers'. Originally conceived to help co-ordinate 12 Car rallies in a tight knit local community, it soon evolved into something far larger. For many years Bill's site was the automatic 'go to' page for anyone involved in Road Rallying, from the Midlands to the deep South of England, who wanted a single reference point to review just what was on, and when in the region. Also of course, to advertise their own events directly to the people who needed to know. From organisers to competitors, the service was invaluable, helping to avoid date clashes and assist in high entry levels.
Bill has moved on to a new chapter in his life, and no longer updates the 12 Car Capers website. It's loss has been frustratingly missed by so many road rally organisers, motor clubs and competitors, that we felt that the concept of a central point of reference needed to be replaced. After discussion, both inside and outside the club, it was decided that BMC could take up that option, and that it's existing website presented the ideal vehicle for the media.
With the change in attitudes and the massive move to Targa Rallying, we have lost many of our traditional 'all night' road events, but there are a number of them still going. Of course 12 Car Rallies and 20/20 Rallies still abound and are proving popular at 'Club' level. These are the clubs and events that this page is primarily aimed at, but with Targa Rallies classified as 'Road Rally' events, they too are included in this list.
The listings below will be maintained on a weekly basis, and although every effort will be made by the administrators to find out what is on and when, we feel that clubs and organisers would benefit from keeping us informed of their events. A simple e.mail to us at Southern RoadSport Listings with details of your event, including obviously date, time, club, status etc. will ensure that it is included. Links to regs, entry forms and individual officials can also be added.
